Join us at the greatest camp I know Camp Bay Breeze - Jammin' in the Jungle. You can help girls develop skills like building a campfire, pitching a tent, sleeping outdoors or "leave no trace" principals. Camp week is June 21st-25th at Calvert Cliffs State Park Youth Campsite. Do you know how to keep the leadership team happy? They need to be fed! Last evening the leadership team met and submitted the camp proposal to council. Based on the current COVID-19 guidelines we had to decrease the number of campers. The only way to guarantee your camper gets is spot is to be a volunteer. As the guidelines change we will be able to increase or decrease (let's hope not) our numbers. Updates will be posted to the website. Stay tuned...We will be posting the Aides application and Unit Leader Request forms towards the end of the month.
Camp Bay Breeze leadership team members Bones, Honeybee, Ali-Oop and adult volunteer Boo attended training this weekend so we could bring new programs to camp. We didn't let a little rain or a slight detour or a grumpy facilitator spoil our fun. Everyone was successful at hitting the board side of a barn. It took us several attempts to get the tomahawks to stick but everyone was successful, once. We learned that persistence was the key! We were definitely out of our comfort zone but it was SO MUCH FUN! Can't wait to have the Aides and AITs try tomahawk throwing on Monday evening. Slingshots was not as intimidating as tomahawks. After hitting the wall with our clay shot we started to go for the other targets. Everyone tried to hit the spinner, without success. The small hanging basketball proved to be an easier target. The car ride home was filled with planning the range for the new activities and coming up with challenging targets that are based on the theme for camp. We had a blast! Can't wait for camp week so we can share our new programs with you. Aides and AITsOn the training overnight (June 5th) we will start some activities that will make tomahawk throwing less intimidating. We encourage everyone to attend so you can jump right in during the Monday evening activity.
Camp Bay Breeze would like to wish Jennifer "Bones" White a happy birthday. Bones was the camp nurse for 13 years and is the current director.
