We are always looking for volunteers for camp. No special training needed, we will provide you with training and support. We would love to have you the full week but will work with your schedule.
Bay Breeze is a primitive camp located in the Calvert Cliffs State Park in Lusby. It is a wonderful wooded setting with hiking trails which lead to a beach on the Chesapeake Bay manned by an all-volunteer staff. We provide a week of fun for girls from kindergarten-12th grade. We focus on girls experiencing the outdoors, developing outdoor skills like building a campfire, pitching a tent, sleeping outdoors and archery, as well as providing a way for girls to explore leadership, build skills, and develop an appreciation for nature. Our camp service roughly 180 girls from 3 local counties. Unit leaders - volunteers come to camp to run the level units for the girls, boys or pixies. At a minimum there are 2 adults in each unit. Depending on the number of campers and their age level a trained teen volunteer (Aide) will be in the unit as well. Units will have planned activities as well as free time to explore the hiking trails or beach. Without the volunteers running these units, camp could not happen. Required to attend mandatory training on May 18th-19th. Adult volunteer discounts - camp offers a discount for the registered Girl Scout if a parent/guardian volunteers for 3 or more full days at camp. We do not offer a discount to bus monitors or adults working less than 3 days. There is a pixie (2y-5y) and boys (K-6th) available for adult volunteers. These units are on camp property and participate in all camp activities. There is more information available about being an adult volunteer on our web page at www.baybreezecamp.weebly.com under the adult volunteers tab. If you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected].

Adult volunteers,
We are excited to announce that the updated Leader Handbook is now available online. This is the most helpful resource for Camp Bay Breeze. You can access each chapter on our website at Leader Handbook - MY SITE (weebly.com). Feel free to print any or all of the handbook for your personal use. Camp Bay Breeze will have one hard copy available during camp week. Leaders will receive a copy of the camp crisis plan during training weekend. We will also take time to review it at training. ***Announcements, Announcements, Annoucements***

Camp Bay Breeze now offers a special merchandise shop. We offer sweatshirts, t-shirts, duffle bags and more that you can add to your camp experience. All items will be directly shipped to you. https://wearyourspiritwarehouse.com/GS-BayBreeze/shop/home ***Camp Bay Breeze does not receive any portion of the product sales. Donations can be made to support the purchasing of updated equipment and supplies. Every camper needs a mess kit! A Girl Scouts is taught to use our resources wisely and to reduce our waste. There are commercial mess kits on the market, but this mom/leader/camp director recommends the dollar store. My daughter left at a part of her mess kit at every camp she attended. I recommend sending items that can easily be replaced that do not hold any monetary/sentimental value. What goes in a mess kit?
