What is a kaper? These charts are used to divide responsibilities and opportunities. These jobs must be done.
What responsibility should go on a kaper chart?
Unit Kaper Chart - A chart showing each girl or each patrol what her or its job is for any given project. It provides for rotation of jobs. Creating the kaper chart should take place on Monday of camp and involve the campers. Camp Kaper Chart - Each unit will receive a copy of the camp kaper chart in their mailbox on Monday morning. It will have the job/s the unit is required to complete before flag down each day. The chart will also be posted on the bulletin boards, the shed, and director's unit.

Simple...a laundry detergent container and some pump soap or soap in a nylon. Camp provides in laundry detergent containers and pump soap. Since we are Girl Scouts, we use our resources wisely and dry our hands with the bandana attached to our belt loop. Does it drive you crazy when your hand washing station or water jug leaks everywhere? I am going to bring a few empty, clean kitty litter buckets to place under the ones in my unit.
Camp Bay Breeze has an official logo. We will use this on our official paperwork for camp. This logo does not replace camp themed t-shirt or camp themed patch. We are planning on creating some merchandise, patches with rockers, and window decals.
Thank you to Kathryn White, former camper, for creating our logo. Every unit needs a basic kitchen for cooking meals at camp, but you don't have to bring everything with you. We have matches, charcoal, dishwashing stations and soap. Camp has a few items that you can reserve to use like dutch ovens, camp stoves, box ovens, pie irons or roasting forks. These items need to be reserved through the director no later than Monday evening. We recommend that you bring these items with you. Spices, can opener, dishcloths and towels, wooden spoons, spatulas, mixing bowls, hot pads, tongs, all-purpose knife, serving ladle, mixing spoons, measuring cups, or other cooking items. When I had a troop, I would borrow the items from the camp kitchen to use during camp week. Below is a picture of my camp kitchen box.
If you are replacing old items in my kitchen, think about putting them aside to use during camp. You can also purchase most of these items at the dollar store. We recommend a tablecloth to provide a clean area to eat and work on. The vinyl tablecloths are easy to clean and can be used year after year (some of mine are 16 years old). Check the seasonal discount sections at the store for vinyl covered tablecloths. You can purchase a fitted sheet to cover the table and cover it with a clear shower curtain liner (dollar store find) as well. The tablecloths should be clipped or weighted to avoid them flying away. You can purchase plastic clips (dollar store find), make your own weights using clothespins, yarn and washer (dollar store finds) or use a bungee cord (dollar store find).
